What is WordPress?
WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.
Used plugins
- AJAX Comments
- Probably one of the best plugins you could use to spice up your WordPress blog with AJAX for Web 2.0; readers love it! Must see for yourself.
- All in One SEO Pack
- This plugin is streamlined for some best practices for Wordpress SEO. While it gives you many options the defaults reflect the settings I recommend using.
- Bluetrait Event Viewer
- Bluetrait Event Viewer (BTEV) monitors events that occur in your wordpress install.
- Broken Link Checker
- Plugin for WordPress that will check your posts (and pages), looking for broken links, and let you know if any are found.
- Dagon Design Sitemap Generator
- This is not just another XML sitemap plugin, but rather a true sitemap generator which is highly customizable from its own options page in the WordPress admin panel. Some of its features include: support for multi-level categories and pages, category/page exclusion, multiple-page generation with navigation, permalink support, choose what to display, what order to list items in, show comment counts and/or post dates, and much more.
- Google Maps Anywhere
- Add Google Maps to your posts and pages.(Only for WordPress 2.5+) This plugin allows you to easily insert Google Maps and Street View into your blog.
- Google XML Sitemaps
- This plugin generates a XML-Sitemap compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog. This format is supported by Ask.com, Google, YAHOO and MSN Search.
- Picbox
- Picbox is a lightweight (around 5KB) javascript image viewer based on the excellent Slimbox by Christophe Beyls, and available using either the Mootools or jQuery frameworks. It features automatic resizing and zooming of large images, allowing them to fit in the browser or be viewed at full size.
- RSS Includes Pages
- Modifies RSS feeds so that they include pages and not just posts. Deactivating the plugin restores RSS feeds to their default state. Including pages in your feed is particularly useful if you’re using WordPress as a CMS where pages represent a good portion of your content.
- TinyMCE Advanced
- This plugin adds 16 plugins to TinyMCE, WordPress’ wysiwyg editor: Advanced hr, Advanced Image, Advanced Link, Context Menu, Emotions (Smilies), Full Screen, IESpell, Layer, Media, Nonbreaking, Print, Search and Replace, Style, Table, Visual Characters and XHTML Extras. Together these plugins can add over 40 new buttons to the toolbar, which is now two rows plus one hidden row.
- viewMobile
- Mobile internet is irresistible. It is not only since Apple introduced its iPhone that people discover the pleasure of surfing the internet without being bound to their PC or Laptop. Unfortunately, many websites are not yet prepared for visitors using mobile phones or other portable devices.
- WP-PageNavi
- Adds a more advanced paging navigation to your WordPress site.
- WP-Piwik
- This plugin adds a Piwik stats site to your WordPress dashboard. Also it is able to add your Piwik javascript code to your blog using wp_footer.
- WP-PostViews
- Enables you to display how many times a post/page had been viewed.
- WP-Print
- Displays a printable version of your WordPress blog’s post/page.
- WP-Table Reloaded
- WP-Table Reloaded enables you to create and manage tables in your WP’s admin area. No HTML knowledge is needed. A comfortable backend allows to easily edit table data. Tables can contain any type of data and additional JavaScript libraries can be used to extend it with features like sorting, pagination, filtering, and more. You can include the tables into your posts, on your pages or in text widgets by using a shortcode or a template tag function. Tables can be imported and exported from/to CSV, XML and HTML.
